'Wheels to Progress' is an extremely rare title and should be widely distributed instead of being locked up like it is nuclear secrets. There are a couple of terrible quality, watermarked copies on YouTube to watch.
The content of the film is nothing short of amazing. I watched the film as digital projection at a public viewing and the quality of the digitizing was impressive. Beautiful May-Day celebrations at Mount de Chantal, industry, a bustling downtown, river waterskiing on the Ohio and much, much more.Time capsule material that is long gone.
WorldCat shows 3 holdings of VHS tapes of 'Wheels to Progress.' Ohio County Public Library has a DVD of a 2K or 4K scan of the 16mm film. Wheeling Library also has a VHS copy not listed on WorldCat.
I went to the Library in Wheeling to view the DVD. Upon entering the Special Collections of Wheeling Public Library to viewed the DVD I was informed they could not find the DVD at that time and had no backup it seemed.
I believe WV State Archives also holds a copy of the DVD, but am not sure. Their search process is very poor at the Archives. Just sickening how this archival material is handled in WV.
