This is a very comprehensive revision of one of the most economically (agriculturally) important groups of flies - Delia, whose larvae are phytophagous and infest various cereal crops and grasses. The work is based on a substantial material from all over Africa and privides detail descriptions of all 20 species encountered on the continent, including six species new to science. Easy-to-use keys for species identification are generously illustrated by the author.
