Having owned a custom ordered 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ with a 400 4 BBL as my first car when I was only 15, I was back in my youth reading this work by Don Keefe.
You can hardly wait to turn the page as with each car covered the reader learns not only the designs but also the engines and ideas behind the concept cars and what was kept and also what later came from these concept cars.
The chapter six was the best but that only because it started out with an experimental Grand Prix from 1975. The section that covered the Steam-Powered 1969 Grand Prix was something I never knew about till I read this work.
The text is great for anyone who ever liked Pontiac's or was interested in concept cars. Keefe fills the work with great photos some from his own collection and some from the archives of General Motors. He includes interviews with former GM employees that help to design these concept cars and gives a overview of what happened to these cars if they are still around or if they met with the crush order.
This is a great addition to the Man Cave book collection. If for no other reason you have to buy this work just to see and read about the 1939-1940 Plexiglass Pontiac. This will truly be a work your friends will pick up and thumb through. Another fine read from Car Tech. ( <img src="" alt="" /> )
