Aside from being fascinating and refreshingly original, Galactica the adventure is an epic tale that will open your mind to the possibilities of greater understanding to who we really are. Furthermore, I gather, this book is about our interconnectedness to all beings; our relationship to others, the world, and even the things we cannot see. I feel the author, Katherina, is suggesting that our species is underdeveloped, but not necessarily headed in the wrong direction. She challenges us to embrace the notion that we all are meant for greatness. That, in order to evolve, society must learn from its mistakes and individually we have to support one another and be better people. I can’t wait to read the next part to this already brilliant saga.

The fantasy in Katharina Harer’s book, Galactica begins the moment you pick up a copy which is adorned with her very own painting which I must admit did not give me much of a clue as to what I was in store for.
The adventure begins immediately when the narrator, Livia has an experience with a stranger who confirms her suspicion that there are forces in our world that conspire to direct us toward a path that leads to self-fulfillment as well as discovery of one’s true self. The story reads much like a tale of an epic journey and there is no shortage of eccentric, quirky, extra-terrestrial creatures that befriend and challenge Livia along the journey. I enjoyed the way the book playfully bounces back and forth between Livia’s life with her friends on Earth and her travels to bizarre worlds.
What is most remarkable about this book is that though its subject is self-discovery, the author shares the narrator’s journey with the reader without at all suggesting what the reader should do with their own life but rather leaves the reader feeling empowered to begin her own journey of self-exploration.

All of us have taken an outer journey. This is a mere reflection of our inner journey - an externalized quest for, ultimately, an internal reward. Katharina Harer in Galactica portrays such a journey of the heroine Livia.
Like any hero or heroine, she too meets a wise sage, who treats her ‘like a long lost friend.’ This motif, represented by Elija, in this journey is truly ‘out of this world.’ In this story the human condition, the struggle, karmic stumbles, and an external loss are matched up against the idealistic view of a balanced civilization and internal gain of ‘beingness.’
A hero’s or heroine’s quest does not end with the conquest, a conquest of consciousness in this story. The victor must return with a boon. Livia is challenged not only to raise her own consciousness but that of her planetary denizens, whose fate depends on the efforts of pioneers like her. No hero or heroine conquers alone.
In Galactica, there is a team representing the truth applicable to all of our individual evolutions. Katharina Harer masterfully brings her vivid and colorful imagination to light in enlightening us and challenging us to go deeper within.
Harer expresses our potential destiny through a magnificently ‘speechless’ creature, which conveys the message that “mankind is ready to combine all these different paths and step into a new system of guidance, where spiritual goals are defined by themselves, and guidance can be received individually, directly from the own inner guide – the higher Self.”
In Galactica, you are taken on a breathtaking journey to reveal our origins, struggles, diversity, inter-connectedness and, most importantly, Oneness. I thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a book. I highly recommend it for both your entertainment and enlightenment.
